Stop Tracking
We're obsessed with tracking.
Steps.
Heart rate.
Sleep.
Productivity.
It seems like you can't do anything for your wellbeing lately unless you monitor and measure it.
But measurement doesn't equate to meaning.
There are so many unmeasurable moments throughout the day that we can miss when we are so focused on the need to track and optimize everything.
Who we are walking with when we are taking our steps.
An extra long hug from your kid after a hard day.
The sleep you lost because you stayed up a little later connecting with your spouse.
It's important to emphasize the moments that can't be quantified–these moments contribute to our wellbeing in ways that data and numbers never will.
It's amazing what we are able to understand about ourselves these days, but it's not the only way to measure a life well-lived.
